  1. No, none of these answers hit the target. My brain is active and exercised, I have human interaction, and am eating fine. Happens with or without meds, happens to everyone I know. If this is the answer they have found, more research is needed.

  2. I learned a bit about this in graduate school 20 years ago. That we tend to know the first letter in the word & that the forgotten words are always nouns. There is disagreement whether it gets worse with age. Brain scientists have delved into why we know the first letter.

  3. Excellent comment, Lynnie. It’s aslo the csae taht you can raed wrods fnie as lnog as the frist and lsat lteetr are preevrsed as in Rayner, et al. (2006): Raeding wrods with jubmled lettres, Psychological Science).
